This Privacy Policy governs your use of the Bazari multi-vendor marketplace application ("App") and explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information in compliance with Omani data protection laws and Google Play’s Developer Policies. By using Bazari, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you disagree, please refrain from using the App.

Information we collect

A. Personal Information: Full name, contact details (email, phone), shipping/billing address, government‑issued ID (for vendor verification, if required by Omani law), payment information (processed securely via third‑party processors).

B. Non‑Personal & Technical: IP address, OS version, device model, usage analytics (session duration, features accessed), cookies and tracking technologies.

C. Vendor‑Specific Data: Business registration details (Commercial Registration, Tax Card), bank account information (for payouts), product listings, inventory, and sales history.

Legal basis & usage

Legal basis (Omani law):

  • Contractual necessity (to fulfill orders and provide services).
  • Legal compliance (as required by Omani regulations).
  • Legitimate business interests (fraud prevention, app improvements).
  • User consent (for marketing communications, where applicable).

How we use your information:

  • Facilitate transactions between buyers and sellers.
  • Verify vendor identities per Omani commercial laws.
  • Process payments and manage payouts.
  • Provide customer support and dispute resolution.
  • Improve app functionality and user experience.
  • Send promotional offers (with opt‑out option).
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

Data sharing & security

Data sharing: We may share information with payment gateways, logistics providers (e.g., Oman Post, Aramex), Omani regulatory authorities (if legally mandated), and analytics providers (Google Firebase) for performance tracking.

Security measures: SSL/TLS encryption, secure servers with restricted access, regular security audits, vendor verification protocols. Despite these measures, users must safeguard their login credentials.

Retention & your rights

Data retention & deletion: Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for legal, accounting, or operational purposes. Users may request deletion of their accounts by contacting us (see section 9). Omani laws may require retaining certain transaction records for a specified period.

Your rights under Omani law:

  • Access your personal data stored by us.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications.
  • Request deletion (subject to legal obligations).
  • Lodge complaints with the Omani Ministry of Commerce and Industry if privacy violations occur.

Children & international data

Children’s privacy: Bazari is not designed for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect minors’ data. If discovered, it will be promptly deleted.

International data transfers: Data may be processed outside Oman (e.g., cloud servers), but we ensure equivalent protection via adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses with third parties.

Updates to this policy

We may revise this policy to reflect legal or operational changes. Users will be notified via in‑app alerts or email (for registered users). Continued use of Bazari constitutes acceptance of updates.
